Since their establishment, Mounties Rugby League has a proud history of developing the next generation of rugby league talent. The club provides structured playing and development pathways from junior grades through to semi-professional teams, supporting both male and female athletes in progressing their careers.
Since entering Cup Competitions in 1990, Mounties men’s teams have achieved strong and sustained success, currently competing in the NSW Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield competitions. During this period, the club has recorded nine grand final appearances and secured two premiership titles.
Mounties expanded into the women’s game in 2017 with the introduction of the NSW Women’s Premiership team. Since entering the competition, the program has experienced rapid growth and success, highlighted by three grand final appearances and two premiership titles. The Mounties women’s team has since established itself as a strong and competitive force, providing a clear development pathway for female athletes within the club.
Building on a successful previous association, Mounties and the Canberra Raiders commenced a new partnership in 2023, exclusively focused on the progression and development for the NRLW. This collaboration is designed to strengthen high performance pathways, supporting player growth from the Mounties system through to professional level opportunities. The partnership provides enhanced development pathways for female athletes to the professional playing field.
